Privacy Policy for Placemarks
Placemarks does not collect, sell, or share personal data from the app.
App data
The app does not use a developer-operated account system, advertising, analytics, tracking, or a developer server.
Saved pins, place names, coordinates, favorites, visited status, and notes are stored on your device. In versions of Placemarks that support iCloud sync, this saved-place data also syncs through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available.
Apple operates iCloud and CloudKit. Placemarks’ developer does not receive or inspect records in your private iCloud database.
Recent searches and app settings remain on your device and do not sync through iCloud. Placemarks does not receive or access this data.
Depending on your device settings, Apple may include app data in device backups. Placemarks does not control or access those backups.
Apple Maps
Placemarks uses Apple Maps and MapKit to search for and display places. When you search for a place, select a map feature, or view map content, Apple may receive the information needed to handle that request, such as search text, place information, coordinates, and map region information. Those Apple Maps and MapKit requests are handled by Apple according to Apple’s privacy practices.
Placemarks does not request access to your current location.
Support
If you contact support, the information you choose to include in your message is used only to respond to your request. Support messages may include your email address, device details, iOS version, and anything else you choose to send.
Support email is handled through Apple’s iCloud Mail service.
